Look to the Cross

When I look to the cross, I remember all He’s done for me. I remember it bought our freedom from our sinful selves. It was a necessary tool used by a skilled Carpenter to build a bridge from us to God.
We see crosses everywhere, especially during Easter. They are decorated, they are hung on our walls, they are worn around our necks.
What do I see when I look at the
cross? It is a beautiful thing, but a stark reminder at the same time of what He did for ME. Me, specifically chosen as an individual and me chosen along with ALL of us. He died a cruel, awful death upon it. The cross was for my sin and your sin. It was for all of our sins.
God looked at the cross and He saw His Son dying. He saw His Son suffering. But He also saw us. He saw our sin and our need for a savior.
It’s overwhelming to think that because of Jesus and the cross, God no longer sees my sin. When He looks at me, instead of failure, He sees success. Instead of the one who caused His death, He sees the one He loves. Instead of mistakes, He sees perfection. Instead of death, He sees victory. Instead of worthless, He sees me as valuable. He sees YOU as valuable! Because He sees me through the blood of His only son, Jesus, the Perfect One.
Because of Him, I have a future. Because of the cross, sin has been defeated! Because He died, I now have life. Because He died, you now have life!
Hallelujah!
Happy Easter!
