Do You Have Tunnel Vision?

You’re driving down the highway to your vacation destination. You come across a long, dark tunnel. A tunnel is dark but it is also a passageway through mountains or deep waters to keep you on the road to your destination. Tunnels can be scary but you don’t panic and jump out of the car. You might get hit! You know you must go through to get to the other side where your vacation awaits. You cruise on through watching for the light at the end. You do come out back into the sunlight. Same thing in life-you might be headed down a road in life and, all of a sudden, you come to a really dark tunnel. You can’t see in there and you can’t see the light at the other end. You must go through this mountain though because your blessing awaits on the other side. It would be wise for you to not panic and jump out of your path. You can’t sit at the entrance and just look at the enormousness of the mountain or depth or expanse of the water or you will never make it through. Stay on course. Ride it out, walk it out or crawl-whatever it takes. You ride it out even if you’re afraid of the dark or claustrophobic. Work your way through! Let the Lord be your light on your path to bring you through. His light is always a light at the end of the tunnel to show you the way out. Trust God to bring you out on the other side no matter how dark your tunnel.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Isaiah 41:10a

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
