Hello, My Name is Child of God

Have you ever felt like people put labels on you that are not you and you find yourself living up to them? Or, they have labeled you in advance without knowing you and they don’t give you a chance to show who you really are? It may not be true to your character. Its hard work to peel those labels off. I have to remind myself I am not who other people label me as. I am not who the enemy labels me as either. I am who God says I am.

A label is a name given to something that usually describes its contents. Sometimes those labels create a false identity for us. People are quick to jump to a conclusion and, sometimes, they get the label wrong. When someone says something to you that hurts (whether it’s true or not), the enemy will take advantage of that opportunity. He will begin whispering lies about who you are in Christ. I have to remind myself I am His child. I want my label to describe who I am to Him-not who others say I am. I want others to know me by the label and name God has given me. Remind yourself daily who you are. “But you are the ones chosen by God. . . chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you-from nothing into a precious person, from rejected to accepted.” 1 Peter 2:9 (MSG) We are chosen (called) and labeled as His holy people to do His work and for others to see His power in us. “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil.” John 15:16 (MSG) Believe what God says about you and not what others say. You are loved! You are worthy! You are chosen by Him! You are capable! You are significant! You are alive! And, you have God’s Spirit within you to remove those labels and victoriously stick His holy, blessed labels on you!💜💙💚
