In Memory....

Memorial Day is the day that we remember and honor our soldiers who died in uniform for us and our earthly home - America.

Why celebrate Memorial Day?

Those men we call our founding fathers came together and created a country based on their beliefs and in a creator who created our earthly home. We now live with more freedoms than most other countries in the world. Does this mean we have health and wealth? Not necessarily, but we should be following in our founding fathers footsteps to NOT take our country and freedoms for granted.

Just as Jesus died for us, others have given their lives for us.

Memorial Day is not about picnics, pool openings, baseball games, family get togethers. Don’t lose sight of the meaning of Memorial Day. Our memorial as Christians is to have communion with Him. Our memorial as people is the day set aside - May 28th each year. That is the focus of Memorial Day.

As citizens, we should have a love for our country. We should honor and take care of our home country and help to make it great. Some take care of it by fighting as soldiers for our freedoms. As soldiers, they demonstrate high morals that a Christian should also demonstrate – courage, service, hard work, obedience and responsibility.

If you have a family member who lived a life of service, remember them on this day! They have fulfilled the challenge of our God. If we live a life of service - “ I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” Matt 25:40 All people have the same worth and are made “in the image” of God. Live a life of service to God and your fellow man.

Until we reach our heavenly home, love your earthly home and be grateful and thankful for our military members who died for our freedoms. We remember what God has done for us and we should remember what our military members have done for us. Remember the price they paid for our freedom.

God bless America! ❤️🤍💙❤️🤍💙
