Every January 1st, we think new year - new choices. We have the possibility of making new choices. A chance to make the choice to change jobs, lose weight, make new friends, live a healthier life.…. A chance to make the choice to grow deeper in Him and grow spiritually.
We have the choice to start over again after having failed to live life the way we intended to last year. The new year is a clean slate to start anew.
We use January 1 as the starting line for us to reflect and pray and to start fresh. Truth is that New Year’s is not a Christian holiday. It’s a good marker, though, to start with prayer and new goals from that day forward. The past year, with its mix of joy and sorrow, is behind us. The mix of spiritual ups and downs is behind us also. We probably missed goals and messed up plans. We probably missed God’s voice and His nudgings. That’s all in the past. Don’t forget it but learn from it-grow from it. Live life today the way we should have lived it yesterday. And, remember every day is a new start not just January1.
