Take the First Step!

Sometimes when we pray about a situation or circumstances, we think that God has not given us an answer. He hasn’t given us the instant answer we want. But, sometimes, we first have to do what we can do to resolve the situation or circumstances. We must trust Him to complete the task and give us the answer.

Move! Go ahead and take the first step. Be obedient and God will do His part after you’ve done all that you can do. In Genesis 12:1, Abram was obedient and took the hard first step and God blessed him. The first step might be the hardest or it might be short and simple but take it!

Do your part and the answer and blessing will come when He does His part.

Do the hard part of rolling back the stone and He will do the resurrecting.

Do the hard part of stepping into the sea and He will separate the sea.

Do the hard part and fill the vessels with water and He will turn them into wine.

Do the hard part and lift up your staff and stretch it out over the sea and He will sweep the sea back and divide it.

Do the hard part and accept the job and He will work out the details.

Do the hard part and join the church or small group and He will bless you with relationships.

Do the hard part and go to the doctor and He will heal you through medicine or miracle.

Do the hard part and share your faith and He will draw them in.

Obey-do whatever He asks you, no matter how crazy it seems, He will come through IF YOU DO YOUR PART no matter how hard.

Faith is taking the first step EVEN IF you can’t see the top of the stairs or what you can see looks scary or doesn’t make sense. “Walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Cor. 5:7 He may have us in a position to NOT see the answer so that we must be obedient and step into action and trust Him. Taking the first step puts us in the position to hear what the next step is and to have the courage to take the second step with Him. Take the first step!
