Whatever Is In The Well Will Come Up In The Bucket

ree

I love sharing my testimony of what God

has done and is doing in my life. I was sharing my testimony recently about how God brought me through cancer twice. It had been 8 years since he brought me through that “fire”. My story is still the same. I will add to it but it will never change.

To survive my fire, I drew from His well. I drew from what I knew about God. His past faithfulness to me fueled my desire to draw deeper into His well. Later, it fueled my desire to share and encourage others in their own “fires”. I consider it my greatest “win” in life to have my life spared, to be used by Him and to have my story to encourage others. To personalize Isaiah 43:2, “I walked through the fire, I was not burned and the flames didn’t set me ablaze.” I drew from the well of life to fill my bucket to survive the fire. Now I can share my bucket of water with others to encourage them, to help put out their fires. “We went through fire… but You brought us to a place of abundance.” Psalm 66:12

Even though my story happened in the “not so recent” past, that doesn’t take the power of God working in my life away. The bucket filled with His water always puts out the fires. It never loses the power to douse a fire. As long as there is living water in my bucket, I can share it with others.

Paul’s story begins with his conversion. That story fueled his motivation and desire to share with others. He never lost his fierce intensity to spread the Gospel. His bucket was always full and sometimes overflowing.

I share my story not to bring attention to me but to show others how they can find purpose and a lesson in a fiery trial. I have walked through my “fire” and I want to use my bucket story of water to help put out someone else’s fire. “Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up” (John 4:14)

Everyday, there is an opportunity for us to share what God has done in our lives. Every day there is an opportunity to help put out somebody’s fire. An empty bucket has not drawn from the well of life. He fills us with living water but we must bring our bucket (our vessel)to Him in t

he fire.

what is your story? What well are you drawing from? What’s in your bucket?
