Worship in Weakness

“You will search for the Lord, your God, and you will find Him when you seek him with all your heart and all your soul.”

Do we seek God in all situations? Do we wish to worship Him and be in His presence? Where do we find Him when we feel like He’s not there?? Are we looking in the right places? When I earnestly search and find Him, it’s so much easier to get into His presence and worship Him. I want to be with Him daily, dwelling in His presence. Where do we find Him?

Do we find Him on Sunday mornings at church? Possibly. Church is the place where it takes the least amount of effort to find Him. The music and environment is set up for us to get into His presence and worship Him. What about when life is rolling along good and we think we have no immediate needs? Is He there?

It’s easy there to believe God is good. Again, the environment is easy for us to get into His presence and worship Him. These are the “weakest” times to worship. When we are strong, it is easy to worship Him and sit in His presence. I can do this!

What about times in life when we struggle and God seems far away? What about when the kids are acting up, the bills are overdue, money is short, you have medical issues??? It’s harder then to worship.

Worship gets real when we are where we don’t want to be but we worship anyway. Worship gets real when life isn’t going the way we planned but we worship anyway. If we still worship in these times, our worship becomes deep and “real.” His presence is felt on a different and deeper level.

God will do more when we’re in His presence in the difficult times than He wants to do when life is good and worship is easy. On your good days, worship Him. On your bad days, worship Him. God loves it when people who are walking in difficult times continue to worship Him and desire to be in His presence.

When you cannot see God in a crisis and the struggle is real, once we’re in His presence, peace and calm will come. Worship in hard times doesn’t minimize or deny our struggles but it redirects or focus on who He is. Our focus on God should be to see He is so much greater than our experiences throughout the day or our lives. The deepest level of worship is praising God in our pain, in our struggles and in our lack of feeling His presence. Worship Him anyway! Worship Him just because of who He is!

Never stop worshiping Him because of your situation - good or bad; worship Him and sit in His presence because of who He is!

“You will fill me with joy in your presence.” Psalms16:11
